An Evoker is a crafted tool that allows users, known as Mages, to utilize a form of magecraft called Stygium Arts. Most Mages rely on an Evoker as their chosen conduit. These tools are imbued with specific properties designed to help focus and amplify a Mage's connection to Stygian Energy, acting as a kind of lens through which their will can shape reality. A key purpose of an Evoker is to allow the use of Stygium Arts without the user being otherwise affected by the mineral Stygium. Evokers are uniquely attuned to their wielder and can come in various forms. These can range from intricately carved staves and gleaming gauntlets to more unconventional items. Melee weapons can also serve as Evokers, sometimes having Stygium crystals directly embedded in their hilts or blades to channel energies or enhance strikes. The design and effectiveness of such Evoker weapons vary greatly depending on the quality of the Stygium used and the skill of both the weapon's craftsman and its wielder, making them highly prized and often unique. For example, the Palatine Guard in the Bretonian Palatinate often wield Evoker weapons passed down through generations, and in the Náströnd Dominion, some use intricately carved wooden Evokers adorned with materials like bone and amber.

While most Mages need an Evoker, individuals with Metastatic Stygium Conversion Syndrome (MSCS) may sometimes be able to wield Stygium Arts naturally, as the Stygium within their own bodies can serve the function of an Evoker.
